Define the work before choosing equipment.

Panel replacement, added circuits and a larger electrical service address different needs. We review the property before recommending a scope.

Panel replacement

Review existing distribution equipment and the reasons for replacement. The scope depends on the installation, condition, location and project requirements.

Service-capacity upgrades

Consider the property’s existing supply and the combined demands of planned equipment. A capacity review helps determine whether a larger service is part of the project.

New circuits & future plans

Plan circuits for appliances, EV chargers, additions or other equipment. Discuss future projects early so the electrical work can be coordinated where practical.

Featured multifamily project

10 buildings. 127 unit panels.
One coordinated electrical upgrade.

VECOR replaced existing Zinsco meter packs and service gear at an apartment complex built in the 1970s. For this property, the owner’s insurance company required replacement of the existing equipment as a condition of coverage.

This project demonstrates VECOR’s experience with meter-pack replacements, service-gear upgrades and unit-panel swaps across a multifamily property. We help property owners and managers review existing equipment and define the scope for a coordinated electrical upgrade.

What the review looks like.

01

Share the property and goals

Tell us the location, existing equipment and what you want to add or change. Equipment model information and construction plans help establish the project requirements.

02

Assess the installation

We discuss existing capacity, panel condition, access and the planned electrical loads. A site review may be needed before the scope and estimate can be finalized.

03

Coordinate the work

The proposed scope can include panel or service changes, circuits and related electrical work. Planning covers access, permitting, inspections and any planned power interruption.

Questions before you get started.

Is a panel replacement the same as a service upgrade?

No. The panel distributes power to the property’s circuits; a service-capacity upgrade addresses the supply available to the property. Depending on the installation, a project may involve one or both. We review the existing equipment and planned loads before defining the work.

Will I need an upgrade for an EV charger or heat pump?

The answer depends on the equipment requirements, existing capacity and other loads. A review may identify a new circuit, equipment changes or a service upgrade. We do not assume the same solution fits every property.

How much does a panel or service upgrade cost?

The estimate depends on the existing equipment, capacity requirements, location, access and related work. Send your project information so we can discuss a review and provide an estimate for the defined scope.

Will the property lose power during the work?

Some panel or service work requires a planned interruption. We discuss the expected impact and coordination requirements during project planning, including any equipment or occupants that need special consideration.

Can you help when an insurer requires equipment replacement?

Yes. Share the insurer’s written requirements, the property details and available equipment information so we can review the project scope. Our featured multifamily project included meter-pack and unit-panel replacements across 10 buildings.

Do you work on commercial properties too?

Yes. VECOR provides commercial electrical services as well as residential work. Share the property type, equipment information and project requirements so we can discuss the appropriate scope.
